Chapter4: "Eyes in back of your head" or "Keep your eye on the ball"?

This chapter is about how Easterners and Westerners perceive world differently.
Asians see the substances while Westerners see the objects: "Westerner sees a wall where the Asians sees concrete." (82)

Like the previous chapters, this chapter says that East Asians attend more closely to other people's attitudes and behaviors and I think so too thinking about Japanese. However, I don't think Chinese are like this because Chinese people who I have met are not. I think Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, and other Asians are too different from each other to be grouped as Easterners. Although, I don't know how Chinese think and feel because I am Japanese so I'm reading this book considering that there are many Chinese people who think and feel like Japanese.

I thought it was interesting when I read that "Asians seem to believe outcomes will be better for them if they are simply in the same boat with others"(97), because I am like that too.

By the way, I joined the golf club on Friday!
